All non zero digits are considered significant.
For example, 45 has two sig figs (4 and 5), while 123.45 had five sig figs (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).

Scientific notation
All digits expressed before the exponential term are significant.
Example: 5.060 x 10^-3 has 4 Sig Figs.
9.00 x 10^2 has 3 Sig Figs.
